Liberty Quarry Rejection to Be Finalize
Temecula Patch Editor Peter Surowski
The county Planning Commission is expected to finalize its rejection of a granite quarry planned near Temecula.
They will hear the matter during a meeting on Oct. 26, according to David Jones, the county's chief engineering geologist.
The commission rejected the plan, though they need to vote on "denial findings" to finalize it, Jones said.

Granite Construction, the company planning the mine, plans to appeal the decision immediately after the denial s finalized, said Karie Reuther, the company's spokesperson.

PLEASE SIGN THE ORANGE CARDS @ THE OAKS
Attention Rainbow/Fallbrook,
The 5" x 7" orange cards that say (to Riverside Supervisors) "Please Vote NO
on Liberty quarry", with reasons why, are available now. We ("SOS Hills" and
"Rainbow Against The quarry") are printing 20,000 cards that, when filled out
(NAME, phone # & e mail (if willing) and TOWN you live in) will be taken to
the supervisors when the public meeting is scheduled. Possibly, it will be in
January, but, nothing has been scheduled.
There are two plastic containers at Rainbow Oaks Restaurant on the bench by
the back door. One container has blank cards for you to take and have signed
by family, friends, neighbors, businesses, strangers, (anyone) and the second
container is for you to drop them off in.
Anyone who would like to take some cards with you and have them signed
and returned them PLEASE help with this effort.
If you take them and find you cannot find the time to help, PLEASE return
them to the Oaks. They are costly.
We made it happen with the Planning Commissioners and we can do the same
with our final "hurdle", the Riverside Supervisors.
Thank you ALL for your (continued and appreciated) support! We do this
by working together.
Our communities have a HUGE investment in this! Let's stop Liberty quarry
once and for all!
